AboutMudpuddle Designs began as a mother's dream run a business that would allow her to stay at home with her 2 young daughters while using her creative abilities to help support her family. In 2002, drawing on her self-taught art skills and the ceramics education she received during her Occupational Therapy education, Sara S. began creating handpainted ceramic drawer knobs at the request of friends and family. She had so much fun creating new designs in her free time that the drawer knob line quickly expanded into over 90 different designs. Sara soon realized that she might have found a way to fulfil her dream of being a stay at home working Mom. She decided to offer her designs online and new business was born!Demand for her custom crafted knobs grew, and in 2004, with much support from her husband, she was able to put her career as an occupational therapist on hold to devote more time to her young daughters and her growing business. Soon customers were requesting new knob designs, as well as matching switchplates to coordinate with the ceramic knobs, so Sara happily expanded the collection. Mudpuddle Designs is now pleased to offer an ever growing line of handpainted gift items, including crosses and birthday plates. We take great pride in creating all of our ceramic pieces in our own studio in the southern United States. We handpaint each item ourselves with lead free ceramic paints and glazes, so that our pieces are safe for your family. We hope you enjoy our products as much as we enjoy creating them.
